Born in 1971, I've been a hard core Star Wars fan since 1977. I'm one of the lucky ones of this generation..  conscious enough to remember the one that started it all. I did  the whole collecting thing, and felt like a kid again when the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition was released in 1997.. But it just wasn't enough. Every since I got my 12" Kenner Boba Fett on Christmas of 1980, I always felt he could have been bigger

I decided to make a suit, or a costume. Whether or not I'd wear it was left to be decided. I've always been a little shy. It just wasn't my style. Nevertheless, I got to work. Needed resources.  I hit pay dirt.

March , 2002 while surfing around,  I was introduced to "
The Dented Helmet", formerly the "As You Wish Forum".  Somewhat overwhelming at first, the information that you'll find there.. But I caught the  "Boba Bug".

I struggled at first, with little hobby knowledge. I think I remember putting together a model or two when I was a kid? Soon, I realized this was going to take a little time, but time wasn't a luxury. Star Was - Attack of the Clones was only a few months away, and by this time,  I had decided  to wear this suit to  the opening at my local theatre for fun. But I knew I could do it.
How hard could it be? I've got plenty of picture reference?

Well, May 5th, 2002 has long since passed.
Needless to say, I never made it. But it wasn't for lack of  trying. So, I set my sites on the next possible event I could show this thing off a little. San Diego Comic Con 2002.

Your probably thinking that if I was too bashful to wear the suit, how did I graduate from considering a local movie premiere, to a multi-thousand person convention in such a short time? What gives?

Well, first, let me just say this. Take it as a word of warning. Once you start this project, you will find yourself becoming increasingly more and more critical, as well as detail oriented. You will paint, strip, repaint, and do it all over again, to get it just right. Especially after the good 'ol boys and girls at TDH get through with you. And I mean that in a completely affectionate way. You'll understand what I mean.

After you put so much time, and effort into your project, you WILL want to show it off, to as many people as you possibly can. And all at once, is even better, And what's more, to people that you can bet your life , will appreciate it. What better place? The biggest Sci-Fi convention on the west coast.
I made it to San Diego Comic Con '02. It was a blast. I got to meet Jeremy Bulloch, David Prowse, Peter Mayhew, and many others. For a first timer to a convention, I did pretty well. Got to meet everyone, got plenty of pics. I'll have a section for "Cons" as the site matures.
When I returned from Comic Con,  the high wore off in a week or two. I was like a junkie going through withdrawals. And there were many things about Suit Version 1.0, that I wasn't happy with. If you do this long enough, you become obsessed with detail and accuracy, as I already hinted to above. It seems this "Boba Bug" was incurable. And it was only getting worse. So, I set out to get serious about this whole "Boba" thing. I  felt there was much room for improvement. After all, it was my first attempt. So go easy on me.
To try and make a long story short ... the start of this site (which will improve later) is the conclusion to the last year and a half of my life. I have completed Suit Version 2.0 ! I can close this chapter, and move on to the next project. The next Star Wars Character!
( Perhaps I will have the whole cast of primary characters done before I'm 80 at this rate.)
Just for kicks. A side by side of my first suit, next to my second suit.
